How does hiring a Personal Chef work?
After you have contacted us (via email or phone), we will set up a complementary consultation with you at your home to discuss your food preferences, dietary restrictions, and allergies if any.  During the visit, a service fee will be quoted.  You will receive your custom menu approximately 2-3 days after consultation.  Upon your approval of the menu, a cook day will be scheduled.  On the cook day, the Chef will shop for groceries, prepare and package the meals, clean, and leave your home filled with wonderful aromas.  When you return home, you will find your freshly prepared meals either in the refrigerator or freezer.  Along with each meal, you will receive detailed cooking/reheating instructions.

Who needs a Personal Chef?

What do I need to do to prepare for the cooking day?
Please make sure the kitchen counters are cleared and clean to ensure sanitary working conditions.  The freezer, stove, oven, and microwave must be in good working condition.  The refrigerator and freezer must also have suitable space to store your meals.

How long will you be here?
We'll be cooking several different entrees and side dishes from scratch, so it will take several hours.  The actual time will depend on the menu selected, but typically it can range from 4 to 8 hours. 

I'll be home that day, Is it okay if I watch or help?
We want to provide you with the best product possible.  You are welcome to come in and visit for a few minutes, but we need to work alone in the kitchen in order to complete the job you hired us to do in an efficient and timely manner.

Will you prepare meals in my kitchen?
Meals will be prepared in the safety of your own kitchen.  The Chef will provide all pans, cooking utensils, and supplies.  In return,  we will leave your kitchen filled with wonderful savory aromas and your refrigerator stocked with tasty home-made food.

What kind of meals do you prepare?
The "Sample The Menu" tab provides an example.   For most entrees, one side dish is included.  We have thousands of recipes to choose from to design a menu around your tastes. You may also provide your own favorite recipes.  We have experience with Special Diets and Allergy Restrictive Diets.


How are the meals stored?
Your meals will be packaged in high quality food-safe containers that are microwave and oven-safe and are biodegradable.  You will have easy to follow heating instructions for each entree and/or side dish.

Are you insured?
Yes, Meals To Remember carries Liability Insurance.  We are ServSafe certified and comply with all food handling and sanitation guideline requirements.

Can I afford a Personal Chef?
Think about all the time you spend going to and from the grocery store, waiting in traffic, and standing in line at the store.  Also think about all the gas you use on a daily basis.  Also consider how much food you throw away?  Most people discard approximately one third of purchased groceries due to spoilage because they didn't have time or know how to prepare them.  Then decide if a Personal Chef is what you need.

Are the cost of ingredients included in your fee?
No.  We charge a set fee for our service, the groceries are separate.  You always get the same quality service, but the cost of groceries depend on the menu you select.

Do I pay you ahead of each cooking date?
Yes.  The service fee is paid in advance of the cook date.  You pay for the groceries on the cook date.  Meals To Remember accepts cash or checks and credit cards through  www.paypal.com
